Only one tree left!

When we moved in 20 years ago, we had 5 great trees. One was too close so we cut it down. Then there were 4. Then when Brad was having jaw surgery, the city cut one down because of disease. Then there were 3. 2 summers ago, one more fell to disease. Then there were 2. Last fall they said the one that shaded our house from the west was sick. (We could tell as there were very few leaves) Down it went, just the other day. Now there is only 1.

We have replanted 2. They are not very big. The shade will be sparse. The front of the house is now exposed to hot western winds and burning sun all afternoon! What to do....what to do? I think I'm going to buy a BIG tree this time!

School on Saturday?

The last day of classes is next Tues.....I am going to go to school tomorrow, even though it is a Saturday because there is no other way to catch up. Panic has set in. After this selfless ordeal I plan to take myself (and Bob) to the movies as a reward.

It is a sad day

I spent 3 years working at Jerstad Middle School and I thoroughly enjoyed the staff there. One of the people I worked with there died last night. Apparently of a heart attack in her sleep. Cammie had just turned 65 and was working a few more months to ensure an increase in her pension. She never got to retire. She will be greatly missed by all who worked with her and especially by the special students she gave her heart to.
